Currently, the planet Saturn is starting a transition from one sign into another. It is in the sign of Scorpio in Vedic Astrology. And it is about to go into the sign of Sagittarius on the 26th of this month.
It is now in the last degree of Scorpio, where any planet can be challenged. A planet that is changing signs can have a certain amount of instability regarding how it functions. It can be more vulnerable to expressing its more reactive side. So, for us, we can feel more reactive or less grounded in the qualities or ways of being that a shifting planet represents.
A healthy Saturn in ones chart gives one the ability to be clear about what things are important to him or her. It then gives the motivation to have routines, structures and commitments to those things in order to nurture them.
Saturn has to do with patience, persistence and the longevity of things. It has to do with the ability to let things go and continually get back to the present. It represents one’s effort.
Saturn can have to do with one feeling resistance - not wanting self-discipline and commitment. It has to do with feeling stress and fears. It can lead to one becoming contracted and ‘old’. Ayurvedically, it has to do with Vata. It can be anxiety, chaos and pressure.
So now that Saturn is in its current shifting stage, some of the positive qualities of Saturn can be a little harder to keep solid and positive. This is why, from time to time, it is important to be clear about the things that are the most important to you. This can sometimes be the extra edge we need to not react in some of the more difficult sides of Saturn. Frustration is one such reaction. This can lead to making impulsive actions, etc.
Also, with Saturn changing signs, there will be a change for most of us, having to do with the areas, in our astrological charts, where Saturn is leaving and the new areas that Saturn will be affecting. Some things will be less emphasized or put on the back burner. Other things may now become more important. It could be a time of making a commitment to something that has, until now, been delayed somehow or in the background.
Probably the biggest takeaway from all of this is: to stay simple and present, don’t react from frustration, anxiety or chaos. Allow for the shift to happen and then feel what has changed.
This Saturn shift started on the 14th of this month, is exact on the 26th of this month and will be done around Nov. 5th.
